List of things I do to make myself happy (new year post)

(New year post)

-Crack bad jokes⁣⁣

The disappointment on your friend’s face when you tell them the answer to your knock-knock joke and they wish to knock you over, instead they move their head sideways in disapproval questioning their choice, suppressing a smile.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
-Imagine giving a speech on stage ⁣⁣
Dreams are as close to reality as you allow them to be. Prepare for that amazing speech when you win the award you’ve made a place for, on your rack. Imagine loud claps across the stadium and don’t forget to thank me for motivating.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
-Sleep ⁣⁣
Peaceful sleep after a long day of carrying your briefcase is all that your body needs. Sleeping is such a beautiful escape disguised as a necessity. Your bed doesn’t question you, it just welcomes you with an open blanket.
⁣⁣
-Pop bubblewrap ⁣⁣
The sound of popping bubbles is my favorite song. You can also wear the bubble wrap as a helmet on your heart, pinned to your sleeve. It’s satisfying to know that you are capable of finding every single bubble on the sheet. Anyways, not everybody is capable of solving a Rubik’s cube. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
-Watch surprise videos on Instagram ⁣⁣
Videos that capture reactions of army sons meeting their family after years, or long-distance partners who hug like their life depends on it is so wholesome.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
-Stroll through memory lane ⁣⁣
I roam around my gallery, dust through old letters, and refold wrapping papers. Things, photos have the power to time travel you back into that moment and remind you of how you felt.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
-Spend time with family ⁣⁣
Be it discussing electronics with my brother or cracking puns with my mother, I save every moment and play it from my memory bank for instant joy. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
-Watch the stars ⁣⁣
How can something made of cloud dust look so enigmatic? Not every star belongs to a constellation, yet every star shines, even on days when it’s darker than the rest. Whenever I count stars I don’t forget to include myself. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
-Smile ⁣⁣
I’ve been told that I have a contagious smile that is unconsciously mirrored by others. There’s so much joy in giving and the least I could give you is my smile which grows even wider after seeing yours.
